Congratulations John Gray – 50 years as a legal practitioner!

Congratulations to Partner John Gray!

John recently celebrated the 50th anniversary of his admission as a legal practitioner.  The team at ClarkeKann are honoured to share in this remarkable achievement and proud to call John a colleague and friend.

Over the course of his career, John has developed extensive experience in a range of practice areas spanning corporate, commercial, M&A, property and estates. John has built a reputation for providing flexible, practical and commercial advice to clients across a variety of complex commercial and property transactions and is highly regarded for his negotiation skills.

John regularly advises on the acquisition and sale of shares, assets and businesses and the acquisition and sale of substantial commercial, retail, industrial and mixed use properties. John also enjoys long-standing involvement with the music and entertainment, wholesale travel and hospitality industries and intimately understands the commercial and legal environments specific to those industries.

John’s 50-year career has seen him advise on countless large commercial and property transactions. Highlights include advising on exclusive arrangements for an international events company with the International Rugby Board for the 2003 Rugby World Cup, the establishment of a joint venture operation with VetShare in the medical supply sector, the acquisition, sale and lease of a range of large four and five star hotels across Australia and advising on the buyout of a majority shareholder in Australia and the United Kingdom.

Lots of things have changed since John’s first day as a solicitor. Gone are the typewriters, carbon copies, all correspondence by letter and smoking in the office, but the trusty dictaphone lives on!

We congratulate and thank John for a remarkable 50 years.
