Legal ExpertiseProfileShane has over 10 years experience in large scale litigation including trade practices, finance and property litigation including retail and commercial leasing disputes, contractual disputes and authorisations and notifications for anti-competitive conduct. Shane also has extensive experience in Corporations Act litigation including board spills, proxy fights, directors’ duties and shareholder rights. Shane acts for clients from across industry groups, including the construction, franchising, information technology, insurance, manufacturing, primary industry, professional services, resources and retail sectors. Shane strives to secure outcomes which are realistic and commercially astute by focusing not only on the dispute at hand but by analysing the 'bigger picture' and the client's strategic needs. - HIS Japan - shareholders dispute with its Australian Subsidiary involving the demerger of numerous international companies and assets including disputed intellectual property rights
- Juniper Developments - disputes with tenants and neighbours of Raptis Plaza, the site of the planned Soul development
- Energex Retail - responding to subpoena for highly sensitive pricing records data for the purposes of a private arbitration where one party to the arbitration was a direct competitor
- Bentleys national accounting practice - claim for passing off and breach of trademark
- Devine Homes - Trade Practices compliance and in defence of a number of TPA claims
- Cape Plc (British multinational) - defence of a class action by former asbestos mine workers in Cape's South African mining operations. The litigation eventually settled for £28.9million after a 4 week pre trial hearing before the House of Lords
