Paul has over 20 years' experience in all aspects of property, town planning and environment law.

Paul has acted for developers, government and statutory authorities, landlords, fund managers and investors.

He has a wealth of experience in major mixed use and community strata title projects including the provision of advice on the acquisition, development and structuring of greenfield and brownfield sites for master planned communities and the re-development of iconic sites.

In recent years, Paul has acted for some of Australia's largest developers in landmark Queensland projects including the Mirvac Group, Citimark, Macquarie Real Estate Capital, Leighton Holdings, AV Jennings, FKP Limited (Aveo) and The Royal Duke Group.

He advises on all aspects of a project, from due diligence, site acquisition, joint venture and funding arrangements to development, titling, body corporate structuring, and project sales. His attention to detail, combined with an impressive understanding of the relevant legislative requirements and the commercial nuances of the property sector, make him an asset to any development project - whether acting for public or private sector clients.

In addition to his expertise in property, Paul has also developed a reputation for excellence in the field of liquor licensing and gaming law. He currently acts for both owners and operators of taverns, major hotels, restaurants and accommodation venues in providing advice and guidance on all aspects of liquor and gaming law and is highly regarded for his commercial approach in the field.

Paul has been consistently recommended as a leading property and real estate lawyer in Doyle's Guide to the Australian Legal Profession.

    Advising on the acquisition, development, structuring and project conveyancing for two luxury residential apartment buildings at Rainbow Bay, Coolangatta.
  • FKP and Twin Ocean Groups - Albion Mill Village

    Acting in all aspects of the Albion Mill Village development, a transport orientated development comprising integrated residential, commercial and retail development with access to Albion Railway Station, to facilitate the development of the Heritage listed Albion Flour Mill site and adjoining sites.
  • AVJennings

    Acquisition, development, structuring and transactional advice on various greenfield residential sites for master planned communities, including Regatta Waters, Parklake, Central Parklands, Big Sky Coomera and Elysium Noosa.
  • Grocon

    Advising on a bespoke premium commercial office tower in Brisbane, comprising 15 levels with the ATO as a single tenant.
  • Leighton Properties– Boggo Road Urban Village and Gaol

    Planning, native title, heritage, due diligence, and structuring advice and negotiations on a project deed with the State of Queensland for a mixed-use iconic development comprising residential, retail, commercial and recreational facilities for the adaptive reuse and renewal of the heritage listed Boggo Road Gaol.

    Advising on the acquisition, structuring, financing, development and sale of the Kirra Surf Apartments Macrossan Apartments and XXV Breaker Street Residences
  • Macquarie Real Estate Capital – Viridian Noosa Resort

    Advising on the development and sale of the Viridian Noosa Resort and Spa comprising 198 residential apartments.
  • MGW (Woolworths Hotels)

    Advising on the acquisition of 20 hotel businesses on behalf of MGW, including the acquisition of freehold and leasehold taverns and stamp duty, liquor and gaming licensing and structuring advice.
  • Mirvac Group – Queensland Tennis Centre

    Planning, native title advice, due diligence, structuring, negotiations and drafting of a development agreement with the State of Queensland for riverfront development land in exchange for turnkey delivery of a State Tennis Centre.
  • Mirvac Group – Ephraim Island

    Planning, native title, due diligence, and structuring advice for Ephraim Island, an integrated residential development on Ephraim Island, Broadwater, Gold Coast involving a multi layered community titles scheme.
  • Mirvac Group – Cutters Landing

    Advising on the acquisition and development of land at New Farm into residential apartment buildings and houses, including dealing with a State heritage building and wharf, obtaining approvals through a Planning and Environment Court Appeal required to convert the heritage listed CSR sugar refinery building into apartments, and creating a multi-layered community titles scheme. The project comprised 235 apartments, 30 heritage listed apartments and 76 homes.

    Advising on the acquisition and development of numerous residential "flat land" master planned community developments, including developments structured by way of community titles scheme – Gainsborough Greens, Sanctuary on Moggill, Mossvale on Manly and Waterline Bulimba.
  • Mirvac Group – Waterfront Newstead

    Advising on the acquisition and development of the former Gasworks site at (Newstead), including significant issues involving remediation issues (including Supreme Court litigation) in relation to former Gas Works site, advice in relation to heritage listed "Stratton drain" and town planning advice. Advising on the structuring, development and sale of the Waterfront Pier and Waterfront Park luxury residential apartment buildings.
  • Mirvac Group – Breakwater Marina, Townsville

    Advising on the development of the Breakwater Marina (Townsville) into luxury residential apartment buildings and villas.
  • Premier Properties

    Advising on the acquisition and development leasing of a number of shopping centres, including Pelican Waters Shopping Centre, Regency Shopping Centre and Middle Park Shopping Centre.
  • Sunland Group

    Advising on all aspects of land acquisition, planning and development of Palazzo Versace, a $250 million five star international hotel and integrated marina resort.
  • Urban Pacific

    Providing acquisition, development and structuring advice as well as project conveyancing for a greenfield site for a master planned community comprising 1,100 lots at Fernbrooke, Browns Plains.
