Alex is an Associate at ClarkeKann Lawyers with a passion for corporate and commercial matters. His strengths lie in his ability to manage significant corporate transactions, from signing to completion, and delivering technical advice with an eye for detail and the broader commercial picture. Alex also brings to his clients the benefit and perspective of his years of experience of working on large transactions at an international top tier firm.

Alex's areas of interest are: transactions regulated by the Corporations Act and ASX Listing Rules, corporate governance issues, and technical contract advice.



  • Advising on financial assistance transactions through whitewash regulated under the Corporations Act in respect of the sale of a group of medical practices with a deal value of circa $4 million.
  • Acting on the restructure of a complex corporate group involving numerous inter-entity debts and winding up of trusts. This involved the preparation of a restructure deed to facilitate the simultaneous completion of the transfer of debts through multiple entities.
  • Acting on and preparing various corporate documents including board minutes and resolutions. Advising on internal company document compliance with the Corporations Act.
  • Acting on the restructure of a not-for-profit incorporated association for the purpose of transferring assets requiring the consideration of complex stamp duty and governmental issues. 


  • Acting on the sale and purchase of mining tenements in Queensland for listed, private, and joint venture companies.
  • Advising on Queensland mining and resources issues concerning tenement titles and overlapping tenures.
  • Acting on the security interest registration of mining tenements.
  • Acting on opinion and due diligence reports for Queensland mining assets. This includes managing data room documents and requests for information. 


  • Acting on multiple contract negotiations through to completion for business sales and acquisitions. This includes a wide range of industries from software companies to travel agencies with deal values commonly exceeding $1,000,000.
  • Advising on numerous and frequent reviews of service and procurement contracts for companies in the construction industry. Highlighting material risks and suggesting amendments.
  • Assisting franchised businesses with enforcing restraints of trade against former employees, along with enforcing appropriate confidentiality obligations.
  • Acting on a sale agreement for the liquidators regarding a business in liquidation. Strong focus on protecting the liquidator’s position and delivering a cost-effective and successful outcome for the client.
  • Advising individuals, companies, and corporate trustees on financial guarantees and loan documents.
