Profile

Paul has an intimate knowledge of property development law. His work sees him acting for major developers in the acquisition, approval, and development stages of major residential, commercial, land and integrated developments. His expertise includes advising on all statutory requirements of environmental law including the Environmental Protection Act 1994, Integrated Planning Act 1997, Queensland Heritage Act 1992, conducting town planning appeals, drafting planning and titling documentation.

Work Projects

Paul has acted on a range of development and property matters including:

• The Mirvac Group - Tennyson Tennis Centre – planning, native title advice, due diligence, lead negotiations and provided advice on structuring in respect of a Development Agreement with State of Queensland for provision of riparian land by the State in exchange for delivery of a State Tennis Centre. www.mirvac.com.au
• The Mirvac Group – Ephraim Island - planning, native title advice in respect of State leasehold land for an integrated residential development involving multi layered community titles schemes.
• The Mirvac Group – Cutters Landing - acquisition and development of land at New Farm into residential apartment buildings and houses; dealing with a state heritage building and associated heritage listed wharf - obtaining approvals through a Planning and Environment Court Appeal required to convert the building into apartments - the Refinery Building (former CSR sugar refinery); creating multi-layered community titles schemes. www.mirvac.com.au
• The Mirvac Group – numerous greenfield sites – Gainsborough Greens, Sanctuary on Moggill; Mossvale on Manly and Waterline Bulimba.
• The Mirvac Group – Breakwater Marina, Townsville – negotiations, due diligence and advice on acquisition and development.
• Premier Properties - Pelican Waters – acquisition and development leasing of a number of shopping centres including Pelican Waters Shopping Centre, Regency Shopping Centre and Middle Park Shopping Centre.
• AVJennings – acquisition, development and structuring advice of various green field sites for master planned communities including Regatta Waters, Parklake and Central Parklands.
• Urban Pacific – Fernbrooke, Browns Plains, acquisition, development and structuring advice for a greenfield site for a master planned community.
• Macquarie Bank Limited – Kirra Surf Apartments – all aspects of land acquisition planning and development for mixed use residential and retail development.
• Sunland Group – all aspects of land acquisition, planning and development of Palazzo Versace, a $250m five star international hotel and integrated marina resort.
